Copyright date update fails

Hello,

when I try to update the copyright date in options>footer>copyright and then save the changes it always changes back to the old text.
However, when I clear out the field and leave it with the default copyright text and save it it works.
What can I do to update to a new custom copyright text?

Hello,

That's most probably because of cache of your website.

Check, if you are not using any of the caching plugins or if your hosting does not have enabled this kind of software.

Hello,

There are no caching plugins installed and the hosting doesn't seem to be the problem either.
But I saw that the Copyright date is updated if I look at a translated version of the website (WPML plugin) but not in the custom language

First of all, please update your theme to the latest version, right now is really old.

Before that, please make a backup with this plugin:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

Here is an instruction on how to update the theme:

Theme updates will not delete your content unless you have changed the
files directly in which case we suggest using a child theme.
We also recommend creating a backup file.
Please remove the theme completely from your theme folder and install a
fresh copy. Do not overwrite files.
