Switching license keys due to removed web developer

Hello,

I let my web developer go due to them not being honest and my website has been designed on the "Betheme" platform. 

I am looking to change the license key that they had put into my wordpress and replacing it with my purchased Betheme key. 

Will I lose my entire website layout and all content by deactivating the last web developers license key and replacing it with my own purchased key?? 

I can not update the theme to the newest update due to getting an error that there are no files in the folder.

Could really use some help here.

Hello,

nothing will be removed. The license key can be deregistered, then you can register any key you desire.

It’s not allowing me to Deactivate the current key it’s telling me to contact you guys first because it states Referer domain is different than registered domain. Please contact us using contact form on our themeforest profile page.

Does this mean you have to activate my key with my domain name? Really need some help here.
