Is a child-theme necessary?

Hello,

If I only add some CSS to the Theme Options > Custom CSS&JS section, do I still need a child theme to not loose this custom CSS?

(Asking because I'm having some trouble making a child theme)

Hello,

No, you do not need the Child Theme if you keep your CSS code in the Theme Options > Custom CSS & JS > CSS

Child Theme is only for keepin the theme files customizations.
