How to display blog post category in homepage (blog component)

I want to display the category, or tag, of a post in the homepage blog component. 

How can i do this?

Hey,

what do you have in mind exactly?

Do you want to insert blog categories inside the content of your home page using the Muffin Builder?

You can only do that by insering a sidebar item, and selecting a sidebar with a category widget inside.

In my homepage i have inserted with the muffin builder, a Blog loop with grid 4 columns.

In this Blog loop we have the image, the date, the title and description, and i want to insert there the category.

Like this:

[DATE]

[TITLE]

[Category or Tag (if possible)]

[DESCRIPITION]

How can i do this?

Well, you have to enable the "Post Meta" and insert a "Blog" item

Theme Options > Blog, Portfolio & Shop > Blog

Well, you can only display these three informations which are in meta tags.

Also, did you try to use other layout of blog? Some of them are not displaying all of the informations.

Still nothing, the best i got is a category dropdown.

What i want its to show the Category of a post under the Title.

This is what i want.

[IMAGE]

[DATE]

[TITLE]

[Category or Tag (if possible)]

[DESCRIPITION]

Is there a way to insert the category?

You can only achieve something like that, please apply this CSS code into Theme Options > Custom CSS & JS > CSS

.post .cat-btn{
  display:block !important;
}

Thank you, at least thats something.

And do you know, if theres any way to not show the dropdown, and to show the specific categories of a post?

I think this is a must have, in the next theme updates :-)

Sadly, there is no option to do that - it's because we made a dropdown to prevent displaying more than one category at the same time (overlapping)

Fix it quickly! I like your template and use it a lot, but several times I had to choose a different one because there is no option to add a post category to the blog slider.

You can use Query Loops and design the blog slider anyhow you want.
