Add background colour to portfolio title

Hi,

I would like to add an effect to the .intro-title element whereby the background is highlighted. 

Ie: From this - https://pasteboard.co/JgIMsAd.png   to this:  https://pasteboard.co/JgIN0m1.png

I want a bit more padding to the highlight and it has to be opaque.

Is there a way to do this please? It has to be boxed with the text. 

background-color did not achieve the required result as it instead highlighted the entire div.

Thank you. Unfortunately the same problem remains as the whole div is highlighted rather than just the width of the text. Is there a way to set the width according to the text with some extra padding? Moreover how could opacity be modified in this context please?
