Featured Images in Search Results?

I've searched the forum for threads asking about displaying featured images in search results with most answers from staff saying, "sorry that's not possible."

Now that's it's been several years that many users have been asking for this feature, is it now possible?

If so, how? 

If not, what kind of plugin or coding modification is working for others to make this possible?

Hello,

We use the same functionality as the wordpress do, we didn't change it in any way - so by the default the search results does not have the featured image displayed.

You would have to edit the wordpress core files to get this changed, please take a look at this topic from the wordpress forum:
