Hi there, any chance I can keep the discription box on the product page closed by default?

Please always attach a link so we can check it out. If the page is offline(localhost) then our help will be limited, you will have to contact us when the page is online. Also please make sure that the page is not under maintenance before you provide us the link.

Well, it will not be possible in easy way.

You would have to create a jQuery script which will click that accordion while page is getting loaded.

I tried to do that with the CSS code, but the display:block attribute is added in the inline code and if I put the !important attribute, then it does not work anymore

Yeah, I thought so...

So where is the best place to insert the code, without loosing them when updating the theme?

 And if it's not much to ask, any tips on where can I pinch that JS from?... sorry, thank you.

You can add all of the JS/JQuery codes inside the Theme Options > Custom CSS & JS > JS

The content inserted there won't be deleted while updating the theme.
