Can not setup size image

I want to resize an image, I have tried with Image | Size, large, medium, small works well but when I try to change the medium size in  Settings > Media > Image sizes, the 300x300 stays on, no mather what size it is set for medium. 
Also when I try to use Image | Width HTML resize | optional, I dose not get any change.

Hi,

after media size change, you need to use Force Regenerate Thumbnails plugin to change old sizes to a new one.
