I am not able to change my license through your automated system http://api.muffingroup.com/licenses/

I am getting the following error:

Wrong username or purchase code.

Please use only purchase codes that has been used to register the theme and the username used at the time of purchase.

I am pretty sure I am entering the correct purchase code and name.

Can somebody assist me please?

Hello,
Do you use a username(the same as on Themeforest) that is related to the purchase code?
The tool that you mentioned is for deregistering only.
You can register in the dashboard, just like in the following video
