Forms causing the site to fail

Hey guys!

OK... I'm having issues with one site (i have several using this theme that are running fine).  Every time i load a contact form plug in - i've tried three different ones - and i've eliminated all the other plugins - I get errors on this file:  wp-content/themes/betheme/js/scripts.js: jQuery.fn.load() 

The entire site stalls and my hosting resources go off the chart.  As soon as I deactivate that contact plugin the site recovers and all is right with the world.  I don't get the same issues with any other plugin.  And again, i've tried 3 different contact form plugins - all do the same thing.

My client wants a form - and they usually receive several each day.

I have not tried to delete BE and reinstall - I really don't want to lose all those settings...

Thoughts/ideas/suggestions?  Help please!

Hello,
Can you tell me what plugins did you try to use?
We recommend using "Contact Form 7", because it is working fine with our Theme.

Hey Phil,

I've tried Contact 7 (like it),  I've also tried Form Maker and WP Forms.  I've used all three of these on different sites with BE - they all work fine.

this site is just giving me a fit...haha
