Block Background Overlay on Images

All of the images used in this demo have a block background overlay. I would like to change out some photos but keep this look. Where can I get the overlay?

all these images should be under Page Options section where Muffin Builder is.

I am new to this theme. Can you point me in the direction where I might find this. Just to be clear what I am wanting to do is change the photo and overlay those little blocks on it so that it doesn't look out of place.

Did you checked Muffin Builder section which is under "Page options" section while you edit page?

Kind of, it puts a solid color. I would like it be a transparent background

Sorry but we don't get it. Above image is just an image and if you don't like those blocks on side, you need to use own image instead.
