Button Styling

I am using custom fonts on my site. I have set the style in the theme settings for button text be bold. However, when I add the button in elementor and have the text be 'default' (which seems to be the only way to get my custom font to show up)... the button text is not bold. I think it might be using the wrong font style for the buttons (not using what I have set in the theme settings). Can you please help me resolve? I'd like the button font to be bold.
