Change Widget Background Colour

Hi,

I am having some issues with the product categories widget background. I tried to add some custom css to set it as a white background but as you can see it is picking up the blue from the theme settings. Is there a way too change it. This is the custom CSS I am using:

.widget_product_categories ul li a {

  color: #585858!important;

background: #fff!important;

   

}
