How do I figure out how other demo pages have been built?

i built my page starting with the pre-made One Page

for some reason, the revolution sliders didn't come with it, but i managed to create one. now i'd like to emulate features on the Resume demo like the parallax image at the top, but even if i create a new slider i can't get rid of the left/right arrows or figure out how the text and signature were added on top:

there are things in other demo pages that i'd like to emulate but it's hard to know how they were created
