How to select the "Latest Products" that are featured on the home page

Hi! I am using BeCarParts. On the home page, it shows four featured products. I want to know how to control which products appear here.

I already tried adding a Category to my products, called "FrontPageFeatured," and was able to get it to show only those products that are in that category. But now my Categories page has that category as well, and I don't want it to show there.

Is there an easier way to tell the theme which products I want featured in that area on the front page?
