Cracked theme update

Hi, I have a suspicion that my client's website's BeTheme was installed cracked. When I try to update, there is an error stating that the update package doesn't contain any files.

Also when I try to deregister it, the website still states that it is registered.

We bought a legit licence and now we want to update the theme. Is there a way to safely update it without compromising our theme settings?

Hey,

The message "Package contains no files" could mean that your license key is used on more than one domain. Please use the license manager to handle your license keys: http://forum.muffingroup.com/betheme/discussion/36219/cannot-register-deregister-your-license-key-use-this-tool#latest.

If you see (on our license manager) that your license key is registered on a single domain, then please disable all of the plugins and deregister that license key (through the BeTheme -> Dashboard).

After that, get into the license manager once more. If the license key is still claimed - deregister it. If it’s not, register it again on your domain (through the BeTheme -> Dashboard) and try to update your theme/plugins a couple of times (usually it pass after 2-3 attempts) - remember, all of the plugins have to be disabled.

Hi,

I am unable to do that. After disabling all the plugins and trying to deregister, I get this message

The tool states: The purchase code has not been used to register Betheme or the username does not match the purchase code.

It's true, the purchase code shouldn't be used yet, because we just bought the theme to be sure it's legit, and we want to register it with a new key, because the old one is gone and forgotten.

What can I do now, please?

Please, install a fresh copy of Betheme, and then you should be able to register your license key through the dashboard.

You do not have to worry that the content on your website will be gone because all data is stored in the database. But you can still make a backup of your website using the Duplicator plugin for safety.
