Issue with jetpack and betheme options.php

H - just purchased a betheme licence. After the theme install Jetpack on a standard scan identified a problem and 'threat' with betheme/muffin-options/options.php on lines 372,373,374 and reports it 'contains a malicious code pattern'.

Is there a way to remove or 'clean' these offending lines and this function easily?

I would rather not have constant threat warnings from jetpacks site scans to deal with.

thanks

  • Hi,

Sorry, but we did not test this script/plugin with the theme. Our policy states that we do not support third-party plugins or custom code, so, unfortunately, we cannot help you.

Also, we cannot recommend any plugins other than the ones we support. You can find the list on this page, in the sidebar:

If you would like to modify this file, it requires file customization regarding Item Support Policy is not allowed. http://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy

So if you want to modify files and don't know how, you should contact your web developer. Item Policy says:

Item support does not include services to modify or extend the item beyond the original features, style, and functionality described on the item page. For customization services that will help you tailor the item to your specific requirements, we recommend contacting the author to see if they privately offer paid customization services or checking out the great service providers on Envato Studio.

    Thanks

  • So you did not test your files and scripts with possibly the most commonly used Wordpress plugin that is used to detect problematic scripting developed by the people who develop Wordpress?

This was a fresh install on new Wordpress setup with no other plugins installed or running aside from Jetpack - which is a VERY commonly used plugin.

This is a really pathetic response.

  • I can assure you that we test our theme on a regular basis with different tools. In that case, the Jetpack considers an issue a code responsible for Exporting the theme options because there are many special signs and a string of characters.

You should not worry about that because it does not affect the theme functionality at all, but we will take a closer look at it and try to improve it.

Sorry, I did not explain that to you initially, but as you can see, some plugin's strict guidelines treat harmless code as a problem.

    Best regards
