Only show parent categories and not their children

Hi,

I need the blog page to only show the parent categories and not the children. I see that there are a lot of threads about this. Has there been an update that addresses this? Or can this be built into future updates? I've needed this function many times. I can't take the child out of the parent as I need a client to see the various child categories when they click on the parent so simply moving them to not be under a parent is not a solution.

If you want to hide subcategories, you can exclude them in Betheme -> Theme options -> Blog, Portfolio & Shop -> Blog.
