add background image to header on homepage

I know I am obviously missing something very obvious but I am unable to add a background image to the header section of the homepage. The red part. I can add a color using Theme options but there is no option that I can see to add an image. I am trying to add the same blue image that I have used for the menu.

Hello,

If you want to add an image to your header, please, go to Betheme -> Theme options -> Header & Subheader -> Header, and set the Top bar background.

Thats what I thought. I have done this but the red background is still showing through.

I tried this adding #ffffff but that just makes that section white. If you take a look now you will see :)

The top phone numbers are just a notification bar plugin.

No no that is not what I want, forget the plugin.

Using the prebuilt theme mentioned above I am trying to change the header background to an image. (You can see this either side of the revolution slider inside the header section) At present it is using a color. Specifically to my site the color is red. I would like to be able to add an image to the header background. The method you mention above is one that I have tried but it did not work.

But that will add a background to the whole section behind the rev slider. Its only the red bit above that I want to have a background for. This is the header section. I can add a color using theme options but Im unable to add an image background

But you can put an image item instead, and it does not have to be the background.

You can also try the following code, you need to put in Betheme -> Theme options -> Custom CSS & JS -> CSS.
