IE9 Issues

Hello,

Our website is acting strange in IE9.

It seems to lose all of the custom CSS that is added to a row through VC builder.

Where we add a row and set the padding and background image etc . . . it is all being ignored in IE9

everything is just defaulting to use variables.css and everything has CSS of inherit, crazy!!

Please help, site supposed to be going live on client server today!

(doesn't seem to have anywhere in this discussion to post private details for website and admin creds).

Hi,

the url you sent does not work unfortunately. Also we can not give you ip because we got dynamic ip which changes every 1-15 minutes. So please unblock your site so we can have a look on it.

For the record, we have tried with all plugins deactivated other than the VC which shipped with the theme and it still doesnt respect any styling done within VC elements let alone all other CSS not loading.

We already opened your site in IE9 mode and your site looks exactly the same as under Firefox or Chrome. We did not noticed anything wrong at all and to be honest we have no idea what could be wrong on your side. Did you tried to check console under your IE to verify the problem? Because we don't know how to help you until we are not able to re-create this issue on our side.

So you are using a valid IE9 not an ie9 simulator and you do not get this (see image below)

mashed nav
mashed layout on icon boxes
no background images
no respect of styling

We get this one IE9, the client gets this on IE9 as do some other resources we have had check the site from outside of the business.

The only difference we see is related with layout on icon boxes but this is something inside VC plugin. Probably you added padding somewhere or empty spaces or something similar and that's why IE9 interprets it differently. As you can see on http://pasteboard.co/1gvxncMO.png tag is not closed properly. But the whole rest does not look like on your screenshot. If you want, we can make a screenshot from IE9 for you but everything looks exactly the same as under Firefox, Safari or Chrome.

obviously not your fault, but this is frustrating, never had an issue this bad before, no matter which person i get to look at the site it is always getting the same mashed layout.

I solved the issue / non issue which you mentioned which it turns out is VC having and issue in a text-box where you have <h2>some content <span>with a span</span></h2>

It break out on the span, ends a P tag which it never opened and doesnt close the h2 ever, hence that first issue.

Still doesnt seem to load and VC styles though from within the page.

To be fair, we tested your site on 3 different computers and on none of them it does not look as on your screenshot. I can check this from my older computer at home as well and if i will find anything, i will let you know tomorrow because so we we completely do not see anything.

Sure it was not a problem. I've checked it last night and i got the same result as on other computers in office. So we really have no idea what could be wrong on your side. This must be because of IE9 version because we are completely not able to recreate this issue on our side.
