How to remove Widgets from Footer?

Hi,

I want to create a footer without widgets i.e. only the copyright bar, however as I cannot remove them, I can only set it to 1/1 and empty them. When I do this, there is an awkward spacing above the copyright bar, linked in the photo.

Any ideas on removing this?

Hi,

Please, head to Appearance -> Widgets and there you will be able to remove empty widgets from the Footer.

However, when WordPress changed the Widgets tab it might be hard to get rid of them sometimes.

If you will have problems with it, I suggest installing the Classic Widgets plugin, where deleting is easier.
