Old Version 16 Update to the newest version

I deactivated the old theme, and set twentytwentytwo as the default.

I deleted the betheme folder from the themes directory.

I manually ftp'd the latest version of the theme.

I also deleted (I have it backed up) the child theme, and upload the recent version of the child theme.

When I activate the child theme or the parent theme I get a critical error.

WP version is 6.0.1, PHP version 7.4

Can you suggest how to go forward?

I see this error in my error.log

I've excluded actual folder/paths

PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required .... /themes/betheme/functions.php on line 37

Hi,

Please download the newest package of Betheme from ThemeForest, and try to upload it again.

You can try doing it through the WP panel.
