Theme code interfering with site

edited August 2022 in Theme support

Hello - the theme code is interfering with the site's product pages. I checked with the plugin developer and it wasn't an issue on their end, as their plugin works on the basic Wordpress theme as well as others. There's something in the child / parent theme conflicting. They identified the lines of code for me, however I was unable to make adjustments myself. Can you please assist? Thank you!

Can provide admin access if needed.

Would you be able to get in touch with the author of your theme and see if there is a way to disable the "<pre>" tags from being used on specific WordPress pages? Or at least the option to render shortcodes without enclosing it in <pre> tags.

It also seems to be adding class names of its own (e.g. as__p) onto the HTML of our plugin.

  • Hi,

Sorry, but the images you have sent are not working, and I am not sure what exactly you are referring to.

    Can you resend them, please?

Moreover, can you tell me the name of this plugin, please?

    Thanks

  • it's a screen shot of the product page that isn't lining up right. You can see it live here: https://uvex-equestrian-usa.com/riding-helmets/

It's the Etoile Product Catalog - it doesn't have any issues on other themes, there's some code interference. I uploaded the images again from the code. I can't seem to find where to edit that code! Thank you!

  • Sorry, but we did not test this plugin with the theme. Unfortunately, our policy states that we do not support third-party plugins or custom codes, so, unfortunately, we cannot help you.

Also, we cannot recommend any plugins other than the ones we support. You can find the list on this page, in the sidebar:

    Thanks

  • Got it. Is there any one of your BeTheme websites that has products but not ecomm? The challenge is we do not sell direct to consumer, but we still want to show the products and the MSRP. That's the only reason we used this plugin. I prefer your theme to their plugin, so if I can just change and adjust to a different pre-built site, that would be excellent! Open to suggestions. Thank you.

  • I do not remember any pre-built website with this kind of product.

However, in the Theme options, you can enable the Catalogue mode for the products which hides all Add to cart buttons. You can find it in Betheme -> Theme options -> Shop -> General.

Do you want to achieve something like that?

    Best regards
