I can't customize the pre-built website "Cottage 3"

I am creating a new web site and I have installed "Cottage 3". I have just started customizing it and I have been able to make some changes to the template (just a few ones: display of the header and color of the buttons except the action button). But when it comes to customizing the colors of the website, it doesn't let me do any change; neither in the footer, nor in the header, nor in the content of the page. Thanks!

Please always attach a link to your website so we can check it out. If the page is offline(localhost), then our help will be limited. You will have to contact us when the page is online. Also, please make sure that the page is not under maintenance before you provide us with the link.

It is always a good idea to also attach a screenshot showing your issue.
