I would need to always keep the submenu open as an attached image ....

Another question if you can put a background on the menu background?

Hi,

1) This might be achievable by writing a custom CSS code. I can check that, but I will need a link to your website.

2) The background color can be set in Betheme -> Theme options -> Colors -> Menu.

The website you have sent differs from the one on your screenshots.

Also, you have a different menu style. There is a classic menu enabled, and on your screenshot, there is a Side Slide.
