One-page site

Hi, I would like to create a one-page site, something similar to this: http://themes.muffingroup.com/be/itservice/

So, I was wondering if you could help me with some questions I had regarding this:

1. Which builder uses better SEO practices for one-page sites, VC or MB?

2. Any suggestions/recommendations to keep in mind for better SEO practices in one-page sites?

3. Let's say a person opens the site and immediately appears on the homepage section/row by default, then the person clicks on "contact" on the nav menu in order to be taken directly to the contact section/row. How can I make it possible for the URL to include the section's/row's name automatically after the user has clicked on the nav menu link? I want it to change from mysite.com to mysite.com#contact, or even better mysite.com/contact (if this is possible with one-page sites).

  • Hi,

    1. We recommend to use Muffin Builder definitely. Also all pre-made layouts were made with Muffin Builder so it's much easier to create this demo with 1 click installation process and then change what you need on site.

    2. We do not have any suggestions in this case.

    3. To do this, you must set ID for section and link must be set with # link. More information about this you can read on http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/documentation/#menu

    3. I already did that, but the URL still doesn't show the section/row name after you click on the nav menu link, it still just shows it as mysite.com instead of mysite.com#contact (or mysite.com/contact).

I set the link as mysite.com#contact

    and also as #contact

None of the above options worked. It does take you to the right section/row, but the URL doesn't change. Why is that?

    Thank you
  • What is the url to site where you did it? We bet that you did it wrong.
  • Your response sounded very rude, but I'm going to think that it was just because English is your second language.

  • Hmm, really? Can you explain what exactly sounds rude? We just asked about the url so we do not understand where you seen "rude" part. Yes, English is not our native language but we think that it's not a problem.

Anyway, we checked your site and we were right. Where is the "One page" option that should be activated for page?
  • So, I just realized that when I click the "opne page" option, the navigation and scrolling becomes smoother, but for some reason, when you click on a nav link it no longer adds the section/row name to the url like this mysite.com#contact

    Why is that?
  • This is how it works.
  • Lol. Ok, is there any way to make the scrolling smooth while making the URL change to the section's name?
  • You can try to use class="scroll" for the menu item but if this won't help, then it's not possible.
