Related Posts is showing Recent Posts instead
The Related Posts at the end of each blog is showing the 3 most recent posts rather than sorting by category. Does anyone know how to fix this??

This is the website (linking directly to a blog so you can see recent posts) https://harborresearch.com/the-pendulum-doth-swing/

I resent the message with credentials
The credentials you have sent are working, but it does not have admin rights.
However, I have checked your posts and the ones that appear in the Related section belong to the same category.
Best regards
I removed the "blog" category which is default for all of them, so I thought it would filter by primary category / additional categories and tags, but it is still showing recent posts vs related posts. I made your user Admin.
Still, they share the same categories, which is why it shows the most recent ones.
If you would like to segregate them more you would have to create subcategories.
Best regards
They don't all share the same category though? There ARE subcategories and yet when I go to different blogs, it always shows the three most recent.
Shouldn't they sort by "Primary Category"?
You do not have subcategories but categories. They are all on the same level.
Subcategories look like this:
Also, the post you showed as an example (The Pendulum Doth Swing) shares the same categories as posts in the Related Posts section:
Best regards
For example, the "Related Posts at the bottom of this blog https://harborresearch.com/covid-testing-at-the-speed-of-light/ go to the three most recent posts despite them not sharing any categories.
The blog's categories:
The blogs at the bottom of page that come up in the Related post section:
Also, does the "primary category" do anything for sorting.
"Make primary" comes from one of your plugins, and we base Related posts on the basic WP functionality.
Also, please, check the following screenshots regarding the post you mentioned:
As you can see, it shares the same categories with all posts from the Related Posts section.
Check also this quick test:
From the post "The Next Big Thing is Not a Thing," I temporarily removed the "Socio-Economic" category.
Now let's check the "COVID Testing At the Speed of Light" post.
As you can see, the post disappeared from the Related posts section.
I hope it is clear now.
Best regards
