Light and dark skin on Header Builder

Hey team,

is it somehow possible to create a light and dark menu skin for an individually built header template as well?

  • Hello,

Can you explain what you want to achieve in more detail, please?

Do you want to change your header display based on if a user has a light or dark theme or browser, or something else?

  • Hey Phil,

I want to use a custom header with both light and dark menu items to be applied to different backgrounds (showing the light ones on dark background and vice versa).

  • There is no option to achieve that, unfortunately. The header template can have only one color and cannot be changed based on the page section background.

    Mh, that's too bad.

Would it be possible to edit the child theme's core files to achieve the header layout I need but with light/dark options? Basically, I'm fine with the "empty" or overlay menu header option but I need the mini cart icon to be shown next to the hamburger menu as well. Can you tell me which files to edit?

  • It may be possible to achieve this, but we do not provide help with file customization.

You should contact your web developer in that case.

  • I don't need help customizing any files, I just wanted to know which files to edit please.

  • Sorry for the late response. Somehow I missed sending it.

No particular file controls the Header Builder because it shares files with BeBuilder and other templates. However, you would have rather written an additional script to control that over modifying current files.
