Be Theme issue
After upgrading Theme from version 20.9.1.1 to version 26.7.5 the following issue had appeared:
Slug stop working for any PDF files or images on any page of the website. When click on PDF link on any page, instead of opening it as PDF in a browser window, it opens as a web page with that PDF file as a link on that page. Only after you click that PDF link, PDF document is loaded into a browser window.
Please help me to resolve this issue, as I can not move with the updating of the web site.
Thank you.

Hi,
Please always attach a link to your website so we can check it out. If the page is offline(localhost), then our help will be limited. You will have to contact us when the page is online. Also, please make sure that the page is not under maintenance before you provide us with the link.
It is always a good idea to also attach a screenshot showing your issue.
Thanks
Thank you for the quick response! Here is the link to the web site: https://test-website.csa.tf/
If you navigate to Training => Course Lists and Information menu (https://test-website.csa.tf/training/safety/course-lists-information/), there are few buttons on the right with PDF links. Click on any button and see how it opens PDF as a web page instead of PDF. After you click on the PDF link on that new opened window, only then it opens it as PDF.
Also on the same page, there should be an image under all the buttons. I think because there is a problem with Slug the image is not displayed at all.
These problems are on every single page of the web site.
If you need to login to WP, please let me know how I can send you Login Info.
Thank you!
I do not see a rel attribute for PDFs in your links.
Please see the following video tutorial:
https://support.muffingroup.com/video-tutorials/pdf-in-popup/
And where should this image appear? Did you try choosing it again?
Best regards
Thank you for the prompt reply.
I updated the "Required course list button" on this page (https://test-website.csa.tf/training/safety/course-lists-information/) with rel attribute. It still opens PDF as a web page.
Please see the attachment for location of the image that is not showing up on the page.
Please advise, thank you.
Please send us WordPress dashboard access privately thru the contact form, which is on the right side at http://themeforest.net/user/muffingroup#contact, and we will check what might be the reason.

Access information has been sent
1) Your buttons do not lead to PDF files. You should put the path to the file in the link field like in the 7th button.
Also rel field for all buttons is empty and you should put there pdf-lightbox.
2) Please choose this image again.
Thanks
Thank you for you response!
I do realize that if I select PDF from media library it will work. The problem is that we use Slug/Permalink all over the web site to point to PDF files. This is because these PDFs are pointed to from external web sites as well. When we update these PDFs if we don't use Slugs, we would have to update all the external websites as well. That is a big problem. Slugs worked perfectly fine for this purpose until the I updated Theme on the test site (https://test-website.csa.tf/).
This works fine in our production server : https://www.csatf.org/training/safety/course-lists-information/
Most of the buttons use Slug/Permalink on this web site. This site's Theme has not been updated
.Images that don't show up on the test web site has the same issue. We use Slug/Permalink to display them on a page.
Please advise. Thank you so much!
Hello, did you have a chance to look further into this problem ?
Sorry, somehow, I overlooked your message.
Can you send us your WP dashboard to this test site as well, please?
Thanks
I already sent WP dashboard access to test site https://test-website.csa.tf/.
www.csatf.org site is production web site where Slug still working fine and Theme was not updated yet.
I just sent WP dashboard access to production site (www.csatf.org) as well.
Thank you. I received your message, but the user does not have admin rights.
Can you change this user privileges to admin, please?
Thanks
User privileges has been changed to admin. Thank you
Did you change anything on the website?
After I logged in, and was navigating on the dashboard critical error appeared.
Best regards
Looks like backup/restore process failed. Please use https://test-website.csa.tf/ web site to troubleshoot. Thank you.
Sorry for the longer response time.
You have a child theme, and modifications on there could change the permalink's behavior, and between versions of the parent theme, something could change that interferes with it. We do not provide help with child theme modifications, so you should contact your web developer regarding this.
The only thing I can suggest is to put a direct link to the PDF file.
