Page and Post Text Color Not Updating

A website that I assist with was redesigned and updated using Betheme a year or two ago. During a recent plugin conflict and subsequent deactivation and reactivation of plugins, some design elements were lost and all text went from white to purple on our dark purple background. It appears a custom version of Betheme was used (don't know what). It also appears we did not have a Betheme license.

I've created a staging version of the site. I have deactivated and deleted the original copy of Betheme, then purchased and installed a licensed stock copy of Betheme. I have successfully used the Betheme options to change the page and post background colors and to set button colors. However, page and post text remains dark gray and headings black no matter what color I change them to. I checked the pages and posts in html view and no colors are specified there. The only pages with white text are some that have white specified in the html.

In Betheme tools, under Local CSS, I clicked to regenerate files (not that I really understand what that does, but just in case). I cleared the cache in WP Super Cache. I even installed and ran WP-Optimize but text colors still do not change to white like they're set for.

  • Hi,

Please always attach a link to your website so we can check it out. If the page is offline(localhost), then our help will be limited. You will have to contact us when the page is online. Also, please make sure that the page is not under maintenance before you provide us with the link.

It is always a good idea to also attach a screenshot showing your issue.

    Thanks

  • I normally do provide a link to the site but didn't think I could grant access to the staging site. However, all I had to do was deactivate the plugin used to create the staging site.

The live site with the unlicensed custom version of Betheme is at https://zchurch.life and the staging site with the fresh, licensed copy of Betheme is at https://zchurch.life/dev/

Here's an example of a standard post on the live site https://zchurch.life/2023/03/11/question-everything-even-god/ (text was all white before recent plugin conflict followed by deactivation and reactivation of all plugins). And here's the same post on the staging site https://zchurch.life/dev/question-everything-even-god/. I find it interesting that the headings, text, and bulleted lists are all different shades of the wrong color.

Here's are screen captures of the Betheme settings on the staging site.

Thanks for any insights you can give.

  • Go to Betheme -> Theme options -> Colors -> General, and change Theme skin to Custom Skin.

    Thanks

  • VICTORY!

Sorry you have customers too dumb to realize what a skin is or why it has to be set to custom, but I appreciate you being there to help.😁

    THANK YOU!

  • No worries, I am here to help you. 😉

If you have any additional questions or problems, feel free to ask.

    Best regards
