How Do I Edit Header & Footer

Hi,

How do I edit the header & footer that comes with the pre-built template I've chosen? I have looked at how to build new ones from scratch and can do that but I prefer to edit the current ones to suite what I'm working on as I like them the way they are.

I've looked at Theme Options, Widget area & Theme Customizer for this but nothing appears straightforward like other themes I've used in the past. My website is: https://necesities.com.

For the footer, I noticed the section under Customer Serice & Delivery are editable via the Menu section but the other 2 (the "Got questions? " & Useful Links section) don't show. Which means I can't edit the footer easily.

Similar issue with the header.

Any tutorial I can follow? None I've found seems to answer my question.

I look forward to your reply.

  • Hello,

This demo uses Header & Footer, builders.

You can check video tutorials about these tools here:

  • Hey,

Thanks for the reply. I came across these videos earlier. They show me how to build headers & footers from scratch.

But my question is, can I edit the current header & footer that comes with the pre-built website (as shown here: https://necesities.com) instead of building one from scratch in the header builder? I like them as they are & don't want to spend the time to build from scratch unless it's the only way.

I just want to know if there's a way to edit the pre-built header & footer really.

    Kind regards,

  • Don't worry.. I found my answer! ?

  • That said, my issue now is, when I make the above changes & press save, it doesn't update the website. Is there a delay to this theme? I've had issues with instant updates to changes since I activated the theme and I don't know why.

    Regards

  • Do you have any caching plugins enabled?

If yes, please disable them, and check if the problem persists.

Also, ensure that you do not have any caching tool enabled on your server.

    Thanks

  • I don't know why I didn't think of the cache.. I've turned it off & problem solved. Thank you

  • Hey, I know it's been a while, but how did you end up doing it? I'm running into the same issue. I also have a pre-made website, but cant see any option to change header text, color etc. even in de designated editor that opens when you click the header. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Anyone else with an answer, feel free to chime in. thanks!

  • I found how to do it!!

First open WordPress, then navigate to appearance and under appearance find the menus tab. You will now be on the edit menus page. Right below the page title you will see ''Select a menu to edit:'' here you can select whichever menu you wish to edit.

For me they were numbered, but this might be different depending on which pre-made website you use. I found the numbers by cycling through the menus in the header editor and looking at which number was linked to the corresponding menu. Hope this helps someone as it drove me crazy for a solid day haha.

    cheers

  • Hi,

I am happy to see that you handled it.

If you have any other questions or problems, feel free to ask.
