Live Search not finding correct categories and icons no longer showing up in results

After updating from version 26, I'm facing some issues with the live search feature:

1. The live search is not displaying the best results with the letters I am typing. For example, when typing the first 2 letters of a word, I get other results. Until I type more letters, relevant results show up. See attached pictures.
2. Category Images/Icons no longer showing up in the result
3. The drop down of results goes behind the element beneath it. I tried limiting results and changing the height of the result container box but it is not taking affect after saving.
