I want a cross in the top right corner of my cookie notification to close it. So not really accepting it. Is that possible?

Is it perhaps an option to make the button small and place it at the top right using css?

Try the following CSS code:

#mfn-gdpr .mfn-gdpr-button{
 position: absolute;
 top: 10px;
 right: 10px;
 padding: 4px 8px;
 font-size: 12px;
}

Put it in Betheme -> Theme options -> Custom CSS & JS -> CSS.
