Image overlay

I would like to use an image overlay just like the following website did... www.desmulkar.nl. In the header there is this picture with the french fries, I would like to create the purple overlay (sort of triangle). Is this possible for you Betheme?

Hi,

we got only "Header background" which can be used similar but our image is full width and can't be used the same was as on this site. If you want to see how it looks like, please use "Featured image" field to set header image.

Ok, the example i have given is indeed on the header. However i would like to have this purple figure on normal images... Can i do this with css?
