How do I add customized content to each product category? When I modify the category, the content doesn't show up.

I've also tried to add the wp_content in the bebuilder category template, but it doesn't work.

Did you try using Description or Content fields for the category?

I tried with the description field (which my old theme used). I just tested with 'top content', the text displays, but is it possible to add formatting elements, links, and images?

You can use custom HTML or shortcodes there.
