Shop single product layout style does not change

No mater which style I change, no change on the single product front end. I was trying purge cache, no help. Same with product list.

For "Blog & Portfolio" layout all works, e.g. if choosing between "Grid" and "Classic" the layout changes also on the front end.

Any idea?

Please go to the templates tab and ensure that you do not have a product template there.
