Open portfolio item contents as popup

Hello,

I'm creating a landing page and I'd like my porfolio items to open as a popup showcasing the contents of each portfolio item, not just the featured image as it is right now. Researching I saw that you had an option to do that in previous versions of BeTheme, but I can't find it in the current option.

Also, can I create custom filters for the portfolio grid or does it only filter the category?

Thank you for your time

  • Hello, thank you for your reply. I've been experimenting with the contents of the videos you linked. However, maybe I should have specified some details of what I'm trying to accomplish.

The portfolio images that I'm trying to link to the popup will be in the general landing page, not inside each portfolio page. I need the portfolio section in the landing page to be automated: each time a portfolio entry is added it should update the portfolio section with a featured image that opens a popup with the portfolio contents.

As I've been exploring the dynamic content, it seems like I would have to manually create a column for each new portfolio entry that is to be displayed in the portfolio section in the landing page. I would also lose the option to use the built in category filters that come with the predefined "portfolio grid" section in BeBuilder.

So the best option seems to keep the portfolio grid from BeBuilder that I just mentioned and somehow trigger the popup on clicking the featured image.

Would this be possible with BeTheme?

  • With a "portfolio grid," you can only show featured images in a popup.

But that is it. If you want to show more information in the popup, you must use popup templates with dynamic data, and create each for every portfolio project.

  • Hello, I just updated today's latest version of BeTheme and now the portfolio grid isn't showing at all. Is this a bug of the latest version?

When do you think it can be solved? I don't want to use a backup as I will lose some changes because I'm developing the website.

    Thanks

  • In case it's useful to someone the portfolio section was missing both in Firefox and in Chrome, switching back to BeTheme main instead of the child theme, having deactivated all plugins and having reinstalled the BeTheme files just downloaded from Themeforest, every time deleting the cache in between.

Finally I've created a new page and saw that the portfolio section was displaying correctly, so I went back to my landing page and created a new portfolio element with the exact same values as before and now it works...

  • So everything is fine now?

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Best regards

  • Everything's fine. Thanks
