Also is there a way to get the gap below 0 on the items in the menu? I want to make the text bigger but then it makes the whole meny screwed due to the size.

Sorry, but I could not answer you because you wrote beyond my working time.
1) You can change the section width to Full Width in the Advanced tab of section options.
2) Edit the menu element, and in the style tab, you can change the top and bottom padding to zero for menu items.
