Widgets are missing

Hello

As you can see from the screenshot, I don’t have anything in the widgets.

How can I fix this? I haven't encountered this before.

  • Hey,

Please send us the WordPress dashboard access privately through the contact form, which is on the right side at http://themeforest.net/user/muffingroup#contact, and we will check what might be the reason.

  • Yes, great, thanks.

Can you tell me what it was? so that in the future I can decide this myself.

  • It is caused because the pre-built website you downloaded did not contain any widgets. I resolved it by adding a new sidebar in theme options, adding a sidebar element on your home page with this newly created sidebar selected, then in Appearance -> Customize -> Widgets, I added a widget to this sidebar, and then all other sidebars areas appeared. After that I removed the sidebar I created in Theme options.

  • Thanks, I'll keep it in mind.

  • In 2024, you need to install the Classic Widgets plugin to be able to use widgets with this theme. Here's the message from support.

"So, since WP have released something called “gutenberg” they stopped displaying sidebars that are being created in Theme Options. We completely don’t understand why they did it but they did. And since then, most customers who wants to work with widgets like before this horrible update, are installing https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-widgets/ plugin (this plugin have been installed over 2 millions times for this reason). After plug-in installation, you can customise widgets same way as before under Appearance > Widgets. This is the most our customers prefer to use as they hate gutenberg.

Nevertheless, if you are a person who prefer to work with gutenberg, after sidebar creation in Theme Options, you have to assign already created sidebar for a page where you would like to use it. And then, as soon as you will assign sidebar for a page and save changes for that page to apply settings, under Appearance > Customise you will see the sidebar you just created."

  • Hi @CozyLife,

To make it clear, installing the Classic Widgets plugin is optional.

As my colleague mentioned in the second paragraph, or as I described in this topic, you can add widgets to the sidebar after assigning to a page and opening that page with Appearance -> Customize.

    Best regards
