2 Different Issues

edited August 22 in Other
  1. The little boxes on the front page that held the content of the front page have turned into huge, vertical content: https://calingtoncastle.com/. I have no idea how to fix this; it changed on its own.
  2. The text on the "Journal" page needs to be brighter, but none of the settings changes it: https://calingtoncastle.com/authors-blog-desk/

We didn't have any problems until after the warranty ran out.

The website is up to date, version 27.5.4.

  • Hello,

    1) Can you attach a screenshot showing what you refer to, please?

    2) Go to Betheme -> Theme options -> Color -> Header, and change the Subheader title color.

    Best regards

  • Hello,

Attached are photos showing the problems. I can send you a video explaining what's wrong, but I would need to send it to you in a private message.

1 - 5 photos are the front page of our website. Note that with this theme (and what it looked like when I first set up the website), there should be small boxes with the content on the front page. You'll see in the photos that those small boxes are gone. You can see for yourself at https://calingtoncastle.com/

6 - 7 images show the text set to white (#ffffff), but there's no change in the text; it's still dark. You can find that text here: https://calingtoncastle.com/authors-blog-desk/

    The cache plugin is disabled.

    Thanks.

PS: Do you remember what the front page is supposed to look like with this theme? I would send you a picture of what it's supposed to look like, but there are over 700 themes to look through to find this one theme.

  • 1) The content on your home page is made with the WP editor. Please check if you did not disable WP assets in Betheme -> Theme options -> Performance.

    2) These titles takes their color from Betheme -> Theme options -> Colors -> Headings from H2.

    3) This is a demo used for your pre-built website:

  • Hello,

I was able to find the color setting for the titles on the blog page based on your instructions. Thank you. As for the Block Library and making sure that WordPress asset is checked, it is. Please see attached image.

    Thanks.

Update: I just remembered that the name on the blog articles is dark, too (please see attached). More specifically, the name "richardfeller" is barely readable. With that said, I have another question: is it possible to make the name say "R.A. Feller" instead of "richardfeller?"

    Thanks.

  • 1) Please turn off all of the plugins, refresh your cache, and check if the problem persists.

If this does not help, my help will be limited as I do not know how your website looked before and what changes you made, especially when you are using a native WP editor instead of BeBuilder.

    2) This title is an H5 heading, so in the same place that I mentioned in my previous message, change the color for H5.

    3) To change the name that displays in the Author Box, edit your user profile, set up a nickname, and set it up for the "Display name publicly as" option.

    Thanks

  • Hello,

I was able to change the text's color and the text's name (from richardfeller to R.A. Feller, and change the color of it to white). Thank you.

I found the theme we're using; it's B.E. Themeson, but here's the thing: was that theme changed? When we first bought Betheme and used B.E. Themeson, there was a 6-block grid on the front page. That's what we want back. Why? Please see our front page now at www.Calingtoncastle.com and how it doesn't look right; the boxes are huge. Please see attached images as well.

As I mentioned, it appears the front page of that theme has changed. It now has blog articles versus the small, 6-box grid.

    Thanks.

  • Yes, I mentioned the pre-built website you used here:

This demo was built with BeBuilder, and your home page is made with WP Editor.

The demo does not change by itself, and after installation, all changes are made by you or the person who creates your website.

  • Ok. Thank you for all of your help.

Can you please visit this page on your mobile device (link below)? Notice the line-height problem. Can you please tell me where I can change it (line-height) for ONLY this text? If I start putting CSS in the website for line-height, increasing it, I'll inadvertently change the line-height for all of the text on the website, which I, of course, don't want to do.

Website page with the line-height problem: https://calingtoncastle.com/escaping-the-flames-emotional-knots/

  • As it's global setting that comes from Theme Options, what you have to do is go to Theme Options > Fonts > Size & Style, disable Auto Font Size and after that, you can define values for attributes like line-height.

  • Ok, thanks.

    JL

  • Can you tell me how to get the grid back on the front page of our website? It's a difficult question to answer, I know, but it needs to be changed back and I don't know how to do it.

    Thanks.

  • I'm using BeBuilder, but I still can't get those boxes on the front page like we had it before. I remember now what the front page looked like before it changed: it had 6 boxes, 3 on top of the other 3, that previewed other pages of the website. How do I get that back?

    Thanks.

  • To get back, or you have to use HISTORY feature in the BeBuilder (of course if you did the backup only) or you have to contact your admin/hosting provider and ask for a backup.

  • If you won't help me get the grid back, can I please have my money back for support that I paid for? It was $47.98.

    JL

  • I don't understand what you're asking for. Do you want me to backup your server?

Regarding the support extension, you already logged onto this forum, asked many questions and received proper support thus refund is obviously impossible.

  • Yes, you have been helping, come to think of it. Pardon my lack of memory, we've been working with other people with their plugins that we bought and forgot that you've really helped us. Thank you, and sorry about that.

There's another issue that I need to talk to you about and will take screenshots of the issue and put here soon.

    Blessings,

    JL

  • Hello,

We have another issue. Should I have created another forum or still use this one?

If you look at the attached images, you'll see text on the right-hand side of the images for the mobile version of the site. How do I fix that? The pages are here:

    1. https://calingtoncastle.com/calington-castle-8-the-monsignors-notes-on-tree-of-life-other-meditations/
    2. https://calingtoncastle.com/calington-castle-3-living-the-truth/

If you turn your phone sideways, the text doesn't do that.

    Thanks,

    JL

  • It is better to create a new topic, but I will answer you for this one here.

The construction with image and text seems to be a custom one placed in a Column Text element.

Instead, use an Image element for the image and Column Text for the text.

    Best regards
