Instead, you would have to use a regular menu element.

My question is how do I do this, because I don't have the option to add a product category in the WordPress menu.
I can only enter it as another link and select an image from the gallery. Is this the only option? Is there any other way to link the menu to the product category and its subcategories?
There is an option to add a product category in the WP menu.
You must enable it in the Screen Options.
