Problem updating to php 8.1.x

Hello,

We're trying to update the php version of a live site 7.4.11 => 8.1.13

Our host shared the following issue for the most recent version of Betheme, 27.5.11, WordPress 6.6.2

Hi Terry,

Thank you for the quick response. As per the logs, there seems to be a missing class causing this issue. Defining it would likely resolve this issue and should also fix the problem. ( Logs attached below). Yes, the staging environment will be slightly different from the live environment as it doesn't display a checklist for plugin versions and WordPress core in the overview panel, unlike the live environment.

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class 'DOMXPath' not found in /mnt/sites7/ee0688522c08915502732dda93b48d6a46c51e43c5ddd08884c4c622a1b6ef7f/web/wp/wp-content/themes/betheme/functions/modules/svg-sanitizer/data/XPath.php:4

Are you able to help with this?

Warm Regards,

Terry

  • Thank you, our host was able to resolve the problem.

My opinion is that the error may have been in a Betheme file however with some experimenting, we are able to update php versions on different sites running different versions of Betheme. As well as obtaining the same error on this site for an Automattic theme.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Warm Regards

  • I am happy to see that you handled it.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know.

    Thanks
