Responsive Design Directly from Desktop Layout Building?

edited December 13 in Blog

I’ve been a Betheme user for all of 3 days now, but even in that short amount of time, I’ve gotten farther than I expected, starting to get the hang of things now. I imported the DEFAULT theme as a starting point and have now altered the HOME page to a point where none of the original sections, wraps or elements remain. In fact, on the DESKTOP, it’s looking 90% as envisioned to this point.

Problem is, when viewed on a phone, the design completely breaks down, gets severely pinched, dial it up and have a look.

Now even though I haven’t yet had the time to dig into this aspect of Betheme, I understand it has (4) modes of editing responsiveness; Phones, Tablets, Laptops and Desktop. However, in visual editors I’ve used in the past, creating a design layout in DESKTOP mode typically delivered a pretty good facsimile at the smaller screen sizes, which simply isn’t happening with Betheme.

Is there a setting or settings I’m missing when designing on the DESKTOP that would make my elements scale down, cascade and stack more naturally when viewed on smaller screens?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
