Page Editing in Version 28.1.8 Extremely Slow

Here's the long and short of my issue regarding page load speed:

• Navigating the CMS works as it should

• Edits within Theme Options works as they should

But...when I go to edit a page? There's a long delay, whether I'm editing a section or specific content. It's like it has to think about it. Very, very slow.

Other Helpful Info:

• I've updated all PHP settings to "recommended" – site health GOOD.

• I've emptied caches via W3 Total Cache.

• Other websites work fine, so it's not my browser.

Ironically, before I updated PHP and added W3, page edits were quicker. FYI: The page I'm editing is the home page, as I just started development, and the site is in dev. mode.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Hello,

Please, turn off all of the plugins, refresh your cache, and check if the problem persists.

Moreover, if you use a child theme, switch to the parent, and recheck it.

    Thanks

  • Thank you! I have another question if I may ask. I created a footer template (not from pre-built). In terms of vertical spacing between page content and the footer... the footer displays correctly on all pages except the home page, where there's a large gap between the last section and the footer.

I've tried disabling plugins, purging the page cache and all caches, and making sure the padding on the last section isn't the issue. Nothing works, so I know I'm missing something

This site is in development so I'm still working on it, so I hope this link works.

Let me know if I need to send anything else. Thanks in advance for your help!

  • It seems that this space is from the WP Editor.

Edit your home page and ensure that you do not have anything placed in the WP Editor.

    Best regards

  • Thank you. I'm still seeing the space but nothing appears to placed within that area as I can see (see attached screenshot). Here are steps I took:

    • In Global>Advanced I changed content display order to "WordPress Editor – BeBuilder" and toggled "WordPress Editor" to "Show."

    • I was able to view this in classic. However, there were no unused or hidden sections. All are connected to page content.

    • I have two sections for each element – one for desktop/laptop (hiding tablet and mobile), and another for tablet mobile (hiding desktop).

    • I reset content display order to "BeBuilder – WordPress Editor" and "WordPress Editor" to "Hide."

    • Clicked on live edit.

    • Clicked on "Settings" in live mode and toggled "Builder Mode" to "Blocks."

The screenshot is what displays after the last step. Any idea what might be going on, or if I missed something here? Thanks!

  • Please send us the WordPress dashboard access privately through the contact form, which is on the right side at https://themeforest.net/user/muffingroup#contact and we will check what might be the reason.

  • The content in the WP Editor cuased this space:
