Unable to Download Local Google Fonts (Loading Spinner Never Ends)

Hi,

I’m having an issue when trying to download and cache Google Fonts locally via BeTheme > Performance > Cache fonts local.

When I click the “Download Fonts” button, the loading spinner keeps spinning indefinitely and the fonts are never downloaded. The /wp-content/uploads/betheme/fonts/ folder remains empty.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

• Tested on a staging site with all other plugins disabled.
• Switched from the child theme to the parent theme.
• Tested again with PHP memory limit increased to 512 MB.
• Still getting the same result: the AJAX request triggered by the “Download Fonts” action ends with a 500 error due to PHP memory exhaustion.
• The Kinsta support team confirmed this and suggested that the memory usage spikes specifically during this BeTheme font download process.

The rest of the website runs smoothly and has already been optimized (Autoptimize, WP REST Cache, database cleanup, cron optimization, etc.).

Could you please check if there’s a known issue or provide guidance on how to fix or manually download the fonts locally?
