Increased Spam After Switching to Betheme
Hello,
I switched my own website and a client’s website to Betheme, but after the change we started receiving a large amount of spam through Contact Form 7. Previously reCAPTCHA v3 and Akismet filtered everything correctly, and I’ve now also added a honeypot — but the spam is still getting through.
Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi,
The theme doesn’t modify or override the filtering logic of those plugins, so spam shouldn’t be able to bypass them simply because of a theme change.
If spam is getting through despite reCAPTCHA v3, Akismet, and a honeypot being enabled, it usually indicates an issue with the configuration or with the particular form setup rather than the theme. I’d recommend double-checking that reCAPTCHA is correctly connected (site key/secret key valid, no console errors), ensuring Akismet is active and tied to the correct form fields, and confirming that no caching or optimization plugin is interfering with the form scripts.
Best regards
