Homepage deleted and reverts to blog page

Hello,

I'm experiencing an issue with the homepage of my multilingual WordPress website using WPML.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • The Italian homepage disappears regularly, and WordPress automatically sets the Blog page as the homepage
  • The English homepage continues to exist but also in English the blog page is set as homepage
  • The Italian homepage does not exist anymore and is deleted.

I've already checked that the page is not in the trash or in draft. This has happened more than once, and I suspect it may be related to WPML settings or automatic updates.

Can you help me identify:

  • Why the Italian homepage is being deleted?
  • How to prevent this?
