Making a single object in a row full width

Hi, using VC I have created a row that is stretched. This option allows the background to stretch to the full width of the screen but it still shows the content with padding. In this row,  I would like to have a separator that stretches to the full width of the screen while maintaining the rest of the content in the row with padding. I was thinking on giving this separator a class and then enter under "Custom CSS" a snippet that would allow me to target only that separator and specify a way to make it stretch full width. I was wondering however, if you could help me by telling me what I should include in this CSS snippet in order to accomplish what I describe above.
