Placeholder\Column Problems

Hi...I have a section, that I'd only like to occupy the first 3/4 width.  I have a Heading 3/4, then a 1/4 place holder. Below, I have 3, 1/4 Icon boxes.  BUT the 1st Icon box is shown along side the heading, in the 4th quarter area.  I've tried placeholders and cousins to resolve this, can you please help?  thanks
