Hi,

1) You don't need to activate theme anywhere. License code is only for you and us.

2) Theme can not be updated automatically because Envato WordPress toolkit does not work anymore as they changed their API. More details about that you can read on https://github.com/envato/envato-wordpress-toolkit/issues/85
